The site is run by someone who studied how to run it
Garrett Shaw runs the job site day to day. He has a degree in Construction Management from the University of Houston, 2015, and started at Envision as an intern. He has been managing projects here for more than three years, and in December 2025 he became a full partner in the firm while staying on as Vice President. The change was announced in a joint letter to clients, signed by both him and Jack, alongside a refreshed brand for the company.
His job is to make sure the plans and specs survive contact with the field, which is where most projects lose ground. That means coordinating subcontractors, tradesmen and labourers, keeping the schedule moving, and catching the small decisions on site before they become expensive ones. Envision also offers construction management services on their own, separate from a full design-build project.
A lot of that comes down to trade coordination that never shows up in a photograph: which subcontractor is on site which week, whether the framing crew and the electrician are working from the same revision of the plans, whether an inspection gets scheduled before or after the drywall goes up. Getting that sequence wrong is how a job loses months without anyone doing anything visibly bad. Envision also carries the EPA Certified Renovator designation, which covers lead safe work practices on older Houston housing stock, a real concern on a lot of the remodels that come through this office. Jack also sits on the GHBA Remodelers Council board, so the standard a well run site here holds itself to is the same one the local builders association is pushing across Houston.

What a plumb wall and a clean joint look like once they're finished
A finished stair rail or a herringbone floor is the easy part to photograph. Whether the crew that built it was any good to work with is harder to show, so here it is in their own clients' words instead.

Garrett and Jack both take the first call. There is no sales team standing between you and the people who will run the project.
